Possession Beasts

I started this thread after being asked by a guildie if there was any fast way of getting a PB's lvl up closer to the main chars Level.

Possession Beasts will only Level from xp gained by killing. You cannot hand in Completed Quests while in PB form and Battlefield xp is calculated at the end of the battle and is applied only to your char even if you killed in the battle with PB.
So how can you speed level a PB?

How:

1. Use it as soon as it's ready, everytime it's ready and keep killing mobs until it runs out.
That may sound simple, but it's easy to forget about the PB and waste possible leveling time.

2. When doing a full Dungeon run, including Bosses, make sure you are in PB form when the boss actually dies. This way the PB gets the big xp instead of your char.
Be prepared for this and don't waste your PB on the mobs if it's not going to be ready again in time for the boss fights. If you need a few more minutes recharging time ask your party to wait before fighting the boss.

3. AFK Dungeon Leveling. I used this alot using Wrecked Ship Dungeon (WS) for my main chars and Ancient Temple (AT) for my 49 Twink.
OK so there's no real way to level a PB while AFK.
However on busy days when you don't have time stay and play but are near your pc, leave your char outside of a Dungeon (WS) or at a spawn point in AT. Let your PB charge while you're AFK.
When you're free, just enter the Dungeon, change to PB and kill everything you can. When PB has run out, leave and reset if in WS or return to the safety of the spawn if in AT and go afk again. ( Now you can go and put another coat of paint on the cat while your PB recharges ).

4. Use your PB to kill the Event Golem found in the Premium Dungeons (PD). The Golem doesn't appear every run in PD but keep trying as the xp is over 1kk when you kill it and is a very fast way to lvl PB. - Thanks to Voicer for this tip

Tips on Using your Possession Beast while in any BattleField

Try to plan ahead before entering any battlefield and make sure your PB is at full charge before you enter.
The reason for this is that everytime you die in a battlefield, your PB charge level returns to the level it was when you first entered.
This means if you enter the battlefield with no charge on you PB Bar, it will probably never be fully charged to use in that battle.
However if you have a fully charged PB before you enter, it will still be fully charged everytime you respawn until you use it.

When to use PB in battlefields:

There is no definative time to use your PB in any Battlefield. Most people leave it until the last few minutes of the battle and call for everyone to go PB at the same time, hoping this will swing the battle in their teams favour. "PB all!" - Unfortunately this causes so much lag it can actually cause alot of your team to be disconnected

Use your own judgement as to when going PB will be most effective in each battlefield. This may be when defending a flag and the attacking team slightly out number the defending team. Your PB could be the reason your team successfully defends. Of course the same can be said if you're on the attacking team.

Don't forget your PB is Immune to Sleep, Stun and Hold Effects. You can also Transform into PB if you are under one of these effects to Release Yourself. Use this tactic if your group has been stopped by one of these effects to free yourself, kill the offending caster and save your group. (or at least buy them some time for the effect to wear off).
Dominators can free themselves this way and then free their group with Lithifying Fog.

When NOT to use PB in Battlefields:

Don't Waste Your PB
Don't go PB unless you have full HP. If you're already taking damage the chances are you'll be killed during the time it takes to transform into PB and you'll have wasted it for that battle.
Don't go PB when you find yourself alone facing the enemy army, you're not going to survive anyway so don't waste your PB for it, accept your fate and save your PB.
Don't use your PB to head the charge attack against a defending team. You will be the main target to kill and will probably be dead before you can make a kill yourself.

How to be the most effective while in PB form:

If you have a stealth class, you can transform to PB undetected. This is ideal for a surprise attack from behind the enemy while your team attacks from the front. This will cause total confusion allowing you to get some good kills and make your teams attack successful.
If you don't have a stealth class, stay at the back of your team before you transform, then Charge through your team to the enemy. This way the enemy will already have engaged in fights with your team mates and probably won't even see you coming. Even if they do see you coming they will still be underattack from your team mates and are unlikely to survive.

Don't forget to use your normal Char skills as well as your PB skills, Heal, Sleep, Stun etc, but allow time for each skill to cast before switching from PB skill to Char skill and vice versa. The two sets of skills will not queue together and will stop the cast of the previous skill if activated too soon. This can be used in your favour, for example: if you need to stop an attack and heal instead.
